A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY

The Ocoa Standard

Our formulation standards:

Nuestra Tierra - we went to our homeland and beyond to find ingredients born to work with curls and waves.

Natural because curls are - clean, luxe ingredients chosen because they work best for curls, not for trend.

Skincare quality  - hydration and barrier protection hold pattern’s natural structure, fighting frizz and dryness from within.

Created & tested by us - we learned formulation ourselves to co-develop our own formulas, because what was out there wasn’t enough.

Vegan ingredients contain a higher percentage of vitamins and antioxidants that will nourish your curls and will provide healthier hair.

Coconut oil is a heavier oil and acts more like a wax on the hair. Causes buildup and makes the hair greasy (especially fine hair).  Many people are allergic to coconut oil particularly due to being used in most personal care products.

Heavy oil for waves and curls (While it is not a bad oil, castor oil can really weigh curls down, making them limp and greasy looking)

Too heavy for 2&3 pattern waves and curls

Formaldehyde-releasing chemicals, such as: 5-bromo-5-nitro-1,3-dioxane, DMDM hydantoin, imidazolidinyl urea, methylene glycol, oxomethane, and quaternium-15 are known for skin reaction, allergic relations and linked to cancer.

May include hidden toxic ingredients and ingredients that cause allergic reactions. We opted to include an all natural fragrance oil to avoid any synthetic ingredients in our formulations. Our scent is a blend of tart grapefruit, sweet orange and sour lemon. Leaving a clean and fresh scent that is gentle to the hair.
