Spring is in the air, and this month we are also celebrating Earth Day.
Earth day was created to help bring awareness and support for environmental protection around the world. We are committed to clean beauty and more sustainability for our community and our planet.
It is our mission to instill confidence in our authentic beauty and also educate our community about clean beauty. For us, clean means more than removing a few toxic ingredients. It means “claro” or clear and clean in all the ways. In our formula, its scent, hand feel, hair feel, recyclable packaging and a “no” list that goes beyond sulfates, parabens and silicones. But why is this important?
During our personal transformation to embracing our curly hair, we tried many products that were not formulated with clean ingredients. We wanted to design products that not only perform well but were made with the highest quality and cleanest ingredients. We knew the feeling of the products was as important in our hands as well as on our curls. We might be a small business, but we are currently working with Novi, a product development platform, that helps beauty brands get certified with clean beauty policies. All our formulations have been reviewed by this third-party platform to make sure we comply with clean beauty standards.
Our motto is “Claro Beauty”. Clean beauty redesigned not only removing toxic ingredients but providing a luxurious hair care experience. As soon as you open and smell our products, you are transported to nature. We use a signature natural oil fragrance inspired by nuestra tierra, the Dominican Republic. Our entire collection is vegan, cruelty-free, free of silicones, parabens, phthalates, DEA, and sulfates.
We are all about small wins that can make a big impact. All of our new packaging is recyclable. We also carefully sourced two new items that complement our Ocoa collection. Our new scalp massager which is made from 95% Wheat Straw is biodegradable and eco-friendly, and our new sisterhood tote bag made from 100% recycled cotton.
We are proud to create high-quality, natural products that not only enhance your curls but also promote a healthy lifestyle.
