Made with nourishing ingredients like flaxseed, mango butter, and hibiscus, our Curl Defining Styling Gel is inspired by the rich natural beauty of nuestra tierra. Use it to add moisture, fight frizz, and achieve a soft, bouncy, long-lasting finish. For curly or wavy hair.

TO USE: Section wet hair and distribute 1–2 quarter sized amounts onto fingertips, raking from ends to roots. Scrunch or finger coil to encourage curl pattern. Diffuse or air dry. For extra moisture, pair with Ocoa Hydrating Curl Cream.

Returns & Refunds

You may return unused items in original condition and packaging within 30 days. Some exclusions apply (e.g., sale items, gift cards, opened products). Refunds are processed within 7–14 business days once approved. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. For damaged or defective items, exchanges are available.     We leave out coconut oil because it can cause buildup, weigh curls down, and trigger allergies. Instead, we use lighter, nourishing oils like sunflower, avocado, and marula—for bouncier, healthier curls.

    Our founders grew up with mangos in the Dominican Republic, and now we use mango butter for its lightweight, vitamin-rich benefits. It softens dry hair, reduces breakage, and smooths split ends—without the heaviness of shea butter.

    Hibiscus flowers filled our childhood, so we had to include their powerful benefits in our formulas. Rich in antioxidants and amino acids, hibiscus strengthens hair, promotes growth, reduces breakage, and enhances curl definition—naturally nourishing curls from root to tip.

FINALLY! My perfect hair product!

I saw this company presented on The TODAY Show on TV and was impressed with their company mission and values, so I thought I would give it a try. I have tried so many different hyped up products promising miracle results and have been sorely disappointed, but OCOA has proven even better than expected. OCOA is lightweight, doesn’t have a chemical smell, and makes my curls defined and not frizzy even when I sleep on it and don’t wash my hair a second day. I originally thought to try Ocoa because it’s Latina owned and I hoped that it would be able to help with my own Latina blend of hair. I have a mix of curl patterns from looser curls on top to tighter corkscrew type spirals underneath and the entire Ocoa hairline makes all of my curls shine in their own light. At the very least I love using the shampoo, conditioner, and curl cream if I’m in a rush and it’ll look great but doing it all together with the curl gel too helps the curls stay solid for a good three days after. Love this entire line!

Amazing Gel!

Love the texture of this gel. Was skeptical at first because it is a thicker consistency, but it goes on like water and is not heavy or sticky. As a curly girl who loves to use gel because I like a good crunch cast, this leaves just enough of a good cast that my hair lasts for a few days after wash day. Dries nicely with no flakes or residue. Smell is divine! Wish that would come in a large bottle with a pump dispenser.

We want to start by saying we completely understand your frustration, and we’re truly sorry this experience didn’t meet your expectations. Our intention was never to cause confusion or inconvenience.

To clarify, your original package was returned to us due to an address issue that was unfortunately outside of our control. As soon as we were made aware, we re-shipped a new box to the updated address, which was marked as delivered. In good faith, we also processed a full refund on our end.

That means we’ve covered the cost of two shipments, two full set of products, and the refund, all in an effort to make things right. As a small, self-funded business, experiences like this are tough, especially when we’re doing our best to offer thoughtful and fair customer service.

That said, we still sincerely hope you enjoy the products you received, and that they bring your curls some joy!
