Experience the Magic of El Carnaval: 6 Vibrant Cities to Visit

¡Hola hermanas! Get ready to put on your dancing shoes and join the fiesta, because we're celebrating Dominican Independence Day in style. February is the month of El Carnaval Dominicano, a joyous celebration of culture, music, and tradition that sweeps across the entire island.

To honor this special occasion, we're taking you on a tour of seven vibrant cities where you can experience the magic of el carnaval. Growing up, we celebrated el Carnaval in Santo Domingo by wearing our DIY costumes (pictured above) to school el 27 de Febrero and attending the parade in el Malecon. We love this time of the year because it reminds us of our beautiful music, traditions and fond memories.

Today, we want to share this tradition with you. From colorful parades to lively street festivals, each city in nuestra tierra offers its own unique twist on this beloved tradition.

Here are our top cities to visit during El Carnaval:

Santo Domingo: Kick off your carnaval adventure in the capital city, where the streets come alive with music, dance, and masquerade parties. Join the parade along the Malecón and immerse yourself in the infectious energy of Santo Domingo's festivities.
